It's been a few months since I last posted a Currently Inked.  Over this time, I've experimented with the number of pens I have inked up at any time. At one point I had as many as 12 pens inked.  It got to be a bit too much to manage.  Too many pens to track and maintain.  Now I'm trying to keep to 6 inked pens with a complete refresh every month.

First Impressions Review of Pelikan M400 Brown Tortoiseshell

There is a category of pens in my Wish List which has always been “pencilled-in”.  It’s the “luxury European” fountain pen category.  The main contenders were always either Visconti or Pelikan to hold the spot in the “under $500” bucket.

You may have noted I put Visconti Homo Sapien on the list.  But in the back of my mind, I really wanted to try a Pelikan, in particular, a tortoise.

Currently Inked: Loadout for Weekend Hockey Tournament

October has been fairly light in terms of travel but duty called. This time the duties as a hockey mom which involved going with my son and his team to the city of Kitchener for a hockey tournament. Originally this was supposed to be a 3 day trip but cut short by the sad reality that our team did not make it into the final day of the tournament. On a positive note, it gave me an opportunity to plan another pen + ink load out.

Apart from my must-bring Hobo and TN, I wanted to bring whatever pens and paper I could fit inside a larger case. The case I had in mind was the A5 sized Lihit Lab Teffa Bag in Bag. I was expecting to travel a lot from rink to rink and I wanted a self-contained writing tool kit that I could bring along.

Throwback Thursday: First Look at Omas Ogiva Alba with Pelikan Mandarin

There's lots of Internet chatter these days about the demise of Omas. I, for one, am sad to see this venerable pen maker go under. I was introduced to Omas thanks to Brian Goulet's wonderfully in-depth videos when the Goulet Pen Company started carrying Omas. I was also extremely curious about the 'Extra Flessibile' nib so that's what I got...
